Advice from Public Health Wales re: actions that should be taken if a member of staff or pupil displays symptoms of Covid19

Mae Iechyd Cyhoeddus Cymru wedi darparu’r wybodaeth ganlynol, i’ch cynorthwyo wrth i’ch ysgolion ailagor.

Mae’r canllawiau diweddaraf ar gyfer lleoliadau addysgiadol ar gael yma: https://llyw.cymru/coronafeirws-covid-19-canllawiau-lleoliadau-addysgol.  Mae’r canllaw yma’n cynnwys nifer o senarios gwahanol, yn cynnwys beth i’w wneud os bydd rhywun yn datblygu symptomau ar y safle, fel a ganlyn:

Beth i’w wneud os oes rhywun yn datblygu symptomau’r coronafeirws (COVID-19) ar y safle

·         Os bydd unrhyw un yn mynd yn sâl gyda pheswch parhaus newydd neu dymheredd uchel  neu os ydynt yn colli’r gallu i arogli neu flasu mewn lleoliad addysg, dylid eu hanfon adref a’u cynghori i ddilyn y canllawiau hunanynysu.

·         Os oes plentyn yn aros i’w casglu, dylid eu symud os oes modd, i ystafell lle gellid eu cadw tu ôl i ddrws caeedig. Yn ddelfrydol dylid agor ffenestr i awyru. Os nad yw’n bosib eu hynysu, symudwch nhw i ardal sydd o leiaf 2 fetr wrth bobl eraill.

·         Os oes angen iddynt fynd i’r tŷ bach wrth aros i gael eu casglu, dylent ddefnyddio tŷ bach ar wahân os oes modd. Dylid glanhau a diheintio’r tŷ bach gan ddefnyddio cynnyrch glanhau arferol cyn i unrhyw un arall ei ddefnyddio.

·         Os oes angen cyngor clinigol dylent (neu eu hathro, rhiant neu warcheidwad) fynd ar-lein i 111 Cymru (neu ffonio 11 os nad oes mynediad gyda nhw i’r rhyngrwyd). Mewn argyfwng, dylid ffonio 999 os ydynt yn ddifrifol wael, wedi cael anaf, neu fod risg i’w bywyd. Peidiwch ag ymweld â meddyg teulu, fferyllfa, canolfan gofal brys nag ysbyty.

·         Os oes aelod o staff wedi helpu rhywun sydd wedi mynd yn sâl gyda pheswch parhaus newydd neu dymheredd uchel, does dim angen iddynt fynd adref heblaw eu bod yn datblygu symptomau eu hunain. Dylent olchi eu dwylo yn drylwyr am 20 eiliad ar ôl unrhyw gyswllt gyda rhywun sy’n sâl.

·         Os oes camau  iechyd cyhoeddus brys i’w cymryd, bydd Tîm Diogelu Iechyd Iechyd Cyhoeddus Cymru yn cysylltu â’r sefydliad addysg, fydd yn gwneud asesiad risg ac yn cynghori ar unrhyw gamau neu ragofalon i’w cymryd.

The following information has been provided by Public Health Wales, to assist us all as schools reopen.

The most up to date guidance for educational settings can be found here: https://gov.wales/coronavirus-covid-19-educational-settings-guidance#section-37691.  This guidance includes a number of different scenarios, including what to do if somebody develops symptoms on site, as follows:

What to do if someone develops symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) on site

·         If anyone becomes unwell with a new, continuous cough or a high temperature or a loss of their usual sense of taste or smell in an education setting they should be sent home and advised to follow the staying at home guidance.

·         If a child is awaiting collection, they should be moved, if possible, to a room where they can be isolated behind a closed door. Ideally, a window should be opened for ventilation. If it is not possible to isolate them, move them to an area which is at least 2 metres away from other people.

·         If they need to go to the bathroom while waiting to be collected, they should use a separate bathroom if possible. The bathroom should be cleaned and disinfected using standard cleaning products before being used by anyone else.

·         If they need clinical advice, they (or their teacher, parent or guardian) should go online to 111 Wales  (or call 111 if they don’t have internet access). In an emergency, call 999 if they are seriously ill or injured or their life is at risk. Do not visit the GP, pharmacy, urgent care centre or a hospital.

·         If a member of staff has helped someone who was taken unwell with a new, continuous cough or a high temperature, they do not need to go home unless they develop symptoms themselves. They should wash their hands thoroughly for 20 seconds after any contact with someone who is unwell.

·         If there is an urgent public health action to take, the educational setting will be contacted by the local Public Health Wales Health Protection Team who will undertake a risk assessment and advise on any actions or precautions that should be taken.
