The Canute Kids’ Duathlon Series gives primary school and Year 7 kids a chance to take their first steps in multi-sport and compete on a uniquely designed course, set entirely within the safe confines of our specially selected venues.
The races are for children between 4 and 12 years old who would enjoy the opportunity to experience what will be an exciting introduction to the world of run-bike-run!
Darland High School, Rossett – Sunday 30th June 2019
Knutsford – Sunday 7th July 2019
Our events are carefully marshalled and signposted, ensuring that the safety of the participants is prioritised. The route is marked with tape to ensure everyone stays on course. The finish is through our finish banner, and our PA system ensures there is a fun atmosphere and participants will feel like a ‘proper’ athlete.
Every finisher at Darland will receive a medal and goodies from Kellogg’s and The Village Bakery, and there will be awards for the Duathlon race winners.
At each event there are four races to choose from depending on the child’s age:
Event 1 – School Years 5, 6 & 7: 1.5km run | 3km Bike | 500m run
Event 2 – School Years 3 & 4: 1Km run | 2km Bike | 500m run
Event 3 – School Years 1 & 2: 500m run | 1Km Bike | 500m run
Event 4 – Age 4+ – 1K Fun Run
Please note, all distances are approximate.
All duathlon participants must have their own bike in good working order. Helmets must be worn and fastened at all times during Transition and when riding the bike.
Entry to the Fun Run is £6 per entrant.
Entry to each Duathlon is £12 per entrant
This is the third successive year that we have held a kids’ Duathlon in Knutsford, and we have enjoyed the whole experience. Earlier this month, we saw almost 100 kids taking part at our first event of the year in Lymm, which was a huge success, as you can see from the press coverage. The children (and parents) all loved it!
We really hope that some children from your school enter, and would ask you to kindly forward this message to parents, and distribute leaflets that we will drop off to you in the near future. In the mean time, please find a leaflet attached.
More details about how to enter can be found on the website:
Thanks for your time!
