We have been part of the Sustrans Active Journeys Project for 2 years. We have been successful with the Bronze Award of the project and are completing activities and actions for our Silver Award now. Our work on this project complements the activities we do as part of our involvement in the Eco Schools and Healthy Schools Schemes.
As part of the project we encourage pupils and their parents to walk or cycle to school rather than using the car everyday. We appreciate this is easier for some families than others but we are grateful to everyone who has made an active journey at some time. With Sustrans’ help we have secured funding from the council to provide a super new bike shed on St Peter’s site and this has been a boost for our cyclists.

We regularly host Go Ride Cycle events run by Wrexham Cycling Club at weekends and we run a range of cycle training activities in school.
Many of our children have joined Wrexham Cycling Club and are experiencing success at local and national events.
