The mayor of Wrexham- Tina Mannering- came to officially open our Fferm Bach and Living Classroom on Friday 15^th May at our community launch party. We invited the whole school – and wider village- community along to see our brand new outdoor classroom space, explore Cluckingham Palace – where our hens Maud, Doris, Gertrude, Mrs Doubtfire, Eggatha Christie and Dolly Parthen live, see our stable and paddocks where our Pygmy goats Teddy, Bear, Blossom and Bloom roam, meet the originals – Big Nacho and Dougal – our Guinea pigs and to see our new school kitchen, waterproof room and wildlife pond. It was a lovely family event with lots of fun and games. Our school farm and living classroom provision will enhance learner experiences and provide authentic experiences for our pupils to develop all of their curriculum skills and knowledge whilst supporting their health and well-being. Our friends from ‘Open the Book’ visited school yesterday to share some Bible stories with us – they brought the arrival of Jesus on ‘Palm Sunday’ and ‘The Last Supper’ to life for us – with the help of some of our Year 6 pupils.

On Friday, our whole school took part in a sponsored ‘Walk for Waterproofs’ — and what a fantastic team effort it was!

We’re delighted to share that we raised enough money to ensure our learners will be fully kitted out for their outdoor learning lessons and activities. A huge thank you to everyone in our school community who supported us, whether by sponsoring our children or walking alongside us.

A special mention to some of our older pupils who stayed after school until 4:30pm to make sure the full 30-mile distance was completed — amazing dedication!

Our Early Education pupils have loved spending time with our school guinea pigs, ‘Big Nacho’ and ‘Dougal’!

We had three fantastic assembly presentations from our friends at Shropshire Falconry! The children thoroughly enjoyed the display and loved learning all about the birds

Our Funded Early Education pupils are thoroughly enjoying their weekly gardening sessions in our allotment with ‘Farmer’ Murray — da iawn!

Our ABC children have absolutely loved their Story Tents sessions this term with Hannah! They’re already excited and counting down the days until the next block begins in Term 3 — we love Story Tents!

Our FEE (Wrexham Funded Early Education / Addysg Gynnar Wedi’i Hariannu Wrecsam) pupils moved into their fantastic new look setting this morning – they had a fantastic time learning and playing in all of the areas – da iawn!
