Cyngor Ysgol – School Council

Our ‘Cyngor Ysgol’ is comprised of class representatives from years 2 – 6 who attend regular meetings to help towards the continuous development of the school and ensure that their ‘pupil voice’ is heard. Our Cyngor Ysgol have recently worked with our Local Authority ‘School Improvement Advisor’ to create ‘pupil-friendly’ versions of our School Development Priorities for the 2025-2026 academic year. Members of our Cyngor Ysgol helped to make the welcome video on our home page and are featured throughout. In 2024, they were actively involved in the appointment of new headteacher – Mr. Roberts.

Pupils in years 2-6 know who their class representatives are and can share ideas with them about how we can make our school even better – or support charities – so that they can discuss this in their Cyngor Ysgol meetings.

Fundraising and Events

Last year, our Cyngor Ysgol supported our School Development Priority to promote ‘reading for pleasure’ by holding a World Book Day celebration event, having a ‘Stop, Drop and Read’ day and running a sponsored ‘extreme reading’ challenge throughout March.

Our Cyngor Ysgol love to help good causes and recently held a coffee morning for the Macmillan Cancer Support Charity and raised over £300!!!

Each year, our Cyngor Ysgol make badges for Remembrance and sell them to raise money for the poppy appeal. Our pupils are able to design their own badges which the Cyngor Ysgol then make for them.
